A Long-Term Mission
In Japan, change takes time. Not only is religion deeply integrated into the Japanese cultural identity, but often sharing the Gospel is best done relationally. Being a nation so unreached, I will be committing to long-term missions work.
Preparation
Currently I am preparing for missions by saving money, completing mandatory training for the missions organisation I am looking to partner with, slowly learning Japanese, and I will also be stepping into some opportunities for development at my church. At the same time, the videos I make during this stage will aim to raise awareness about the need in Japan and establish a support network.
Moving Overseas
Once I move over, likely in April 2027, I will have to get set up to live in Japan, including finding an Apartment or house, getting my documentation all sorted out, probably a bank account and a many other things. There are quite a few once-off costs that will be involved.
Long-Term
My first 1-2 years will be full time language school, alongside some other training and serving opportunities, which will then be followed by serving a local Japanese church, and working in existing ministries. In the longer term, I aim to establish new ministries, plant churches, and create digital and video resources for churches across Japan.
For the equivalent of roughly $6 a week, supporters help address some of the basic costs of being a missionary.
Support my Ministry
For the equivalent of roughly $12/week, committed supporters assist not only with ministry costs but also get access to the Heart for Japan community hub
For the equivalent of roughly $18.50/week, Ministry Partners both significantly financially support the ministry and get a closer look at the day-to-day process of missionary work through exclusive videos.
